Indian food enthusiasts all over the world became part of a Kickstarter campaign to bring my books into the limelight, and make it happen. Here is what some of them had to say about it.

Faye Levy

Author of  Classic Cooking Techniques, Winner, IACP Award, Best General and Basic Book of 1986

In ‘Crack The Code’ Nandita presents an innovative formula that she developed to illuminate Indian cuisine.

Thanks to Nandita’s special recipe format, when I look at the ingredient list of a recipe in ‘Crack The Code’, I can visualize the cooking process.

When I read ‘Crack The Code’, I felt that Nandita had written her book for people like me who want to understand Indian cuisine. Once you master its basic principles, you can prepare Indian dishes with more confidence, less effort and better results, and the process of cooking becomes more enjoyable. Cooking Indian dishes becomes more natural, almost as if you grew up with them.

At the risk of sounding immodest, I consider myself pretty well versed in spices and exotic ingredients--yes, I have a masala dabba--but I came across plenty of new culinary delights in Nandita's book. I love basil leaves, but I had no idea the seeds were also used in cooking; I've long been a fan of water chestnuts, but I had no idea they can be made into flour. And lichen is edible?? That's now on my list of Fantasy Foods To Try!

Nandita's recipe-building techniques and her innovative dishes rest on a firm foundation of in-depth knowledge of Indian cookery, so whether you're new to the cuisine or make your own chai blends on a weekly basis, you'll find fresh new insights throughout Crack the Code. Thank you, Nandita, for sharing your wisdom with us!
